Based in Buxton, our team have been providing industry-leading IT and computer services and solutions for over two decades.

Since the company was formed in 1998 by owner and Director Mark Stow, our team has grown to include six full time members of staff and we now provide IT support and services to over 200 customers across the North West including Buxton, Derbyshire, Stockport, South Manchester and Cheshire.

Our team have over 50 years combined experience in the IT sector and have developed an unmatched level of skill and expertise in their field.

From onsite IT support, server installation and commercial WiFi for businesses through to Windows support and computer repairs for individuals, we offer a complete range of services that can improve the security and workflow of businesses and enhance the online and digital experience for users whether they are employees working from home or families looking to improve their WiFi to watch the latest blockbuster on Netflix.

We have come a long way since we started out in 1998 and we are excited to see where the ever-changing digital landscape takes us and our customers next.

Meet the brains behind the business

Mark is the Director/Owner of Upland Systems Ltd. He started the business in 1998 and has been helping businesses with IT support ever since. Mark comes from an engineering and problem solving background, initially in the Quarrying industry.

Liam joined Upland Systems Ltd in 2015 and completed his Level 3 and 4 Apprenticeship in Network Engineering and ICT Professional Competence.

Callum started with us December 2021, originally joining us on a college placement while studying for his Level 3 IT & Computing Diploma.

Having impressed us with his hardworking ethic and his ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies, he is now with us full time completing his Level 4 Network Engineering Apprenticeship.

Jo Bradshaw

Jo joined the company in 2019 and is involved in accounts, purchasing and stock control. Jo has a background in Retail.

Tony joined Upland in 2024 and boasts an impressive tenure of 20+ years in the field of Information Technology. His professional journey has seen him work with clients such as The RAC, Zurich Insurance, and Barclays. Within these roles, Tony has undertaken diverse responsibilities, ranging from providing onsite support to spearheading large-scale migration projects.

Tony's expertise is complemented by his valuable certifications, including CompTIA Network+ and various Microsoft certifications.

Jack Joined Upland in 2024 have previously worked for a Local IT company since 2018 where he gained valuable knowledge helping both home users and small businesses. Jack is currently studying Computer Science at Lancaster University after achieving Distinction* at A Level.

I just wanted to express our appreciation for James. We have had a number of IT issues here at Cobalt recently and he has been extremely helpful in resolving them. Whilst James was at our office offering IT support, he also went above and beyond his job role. For example, he took the time to move a safe for us which a delivery driver had left blocking the entrance doorway on the ground floor of our building. He did not hesitate to offer his assistance for which we are sincerely grateful. If it had not been for James we would not have been able to move the safe which was causing a hazard.
